Caramel feels like a native Windows version of macOS's built-in screen recording.
The Mac comparison
QuickTime Player gave the Mac simple screen recording: open the app, hit record. But no system audio, no single-window capture, and a heavy .mov file. Caramel is that idea, finished — for Windows.
It doesn't feel like OBS.
What it actually is

Launches when you need it.
Native. Instant. Beautiful. Invisible.
The edge of the recording
Choose a window and Caramel draws its border. The screen itself says what is about to be recorded. A small native object, not a control room.

Light when idle
Caramel sleeps until you call it. No background workers, no web stack warming up — just a tray icon waiting for a shortcut.

You see something. You press a key. It's recorded.
A small sweet thing. It shows up, does the work, and disappears.
